The Spectrum Club, Keighly 2005

Take the four decades of UK blues experience of the front man, add the enthusiasm and energy of his young band, place them in the intimate atmosphere of the North's newest venue, light the touch paper and step back!

John O'Leary and his bad drove the length of the M1 and back again leaving an indelible mark on the lucky members at a packed Spectrum Blues Club. With a wonderfully traditional core to the repertoire - Muddy Waters' -Nineteen Years Old', Rice Miller's- 'Help Me', Junior Wells'- 'Snatch it Back' - renewed by the band with an infusion of jazzy chords and latin rhythms the two hour show had enough variety to please new and old blues fans alike. John's searing blues harp was complemented by the slide guitar of Jules Fothergill and the contrasting style of Winston Delandro on lead and a watertight rhythm section of Joachim Greve(drums) and Roger Inniss (bass). The lovely Lorna Reilly joined John to sing 'Rock me Baby' and Jules took vocal duties on 'Turn on Your Lovelight' before a guitar dual with guest Tim O'Sullivan. A full stage, a packed house and a memorable night. (Or as Jules put it "Wicked club; Nice people.......Keith Lee..
